Our Story
Named for light.
La Luer takes its name from the French word for light. We believe everyone deserves to see their own, without hiding it beneath layers of makeup.
It began with my own skin.
In my late twenties, my skin began to change. I was breaking out, and it was dry, sensitive and inflamed. The first fine lines appeared beneath my eyes, beside my nose and across my forehead. My face looked as tired and stressed as I felt.
It shook my confidence so deeply that I never left the house without a heavy layer of foundation. I tried everything: products with perfect reviews, holistic remedies, prescription treatments, a ten-step nighttime routine. And yet the more I did, the worse my skin became.

The answer was in the treatment room.
Then I discovered professional facials powered by beauty technology, and I fell in love with the technologies they used, because the results were incredible. I knew consistency was everything, but with a full-time job, weekly appointments simply weren't possible.
So I went searching for an at-home tool that would truly target the root cause of skin concerns, rather than simply cover them up. It had to meet three conditions.
Every essential technology in a single tool, so someone with hormonal acne and someone with fine lines could both find what they need.

Nothing like it existed. So I set out to make it myself.
A thousand prototypes later.
Nothing on the market brought six technologies together across four targeted treatments. I partnered with five engineers to build the first prototypes, and again and again I was told it couldn't be done.
I believed otherwise. With an obsessive eye for detail, and partners who shared the vision, we pioneered the first true 6-in-1 facial device: six technologies working together in a single handheld tool. And we hold the patent for it: a utility patent for integrating six technologies into one, alongside two design patents.
We introduced La Luer to the world at CES 2019, alongside the biggest names in technology.
